VITL announces personnel changes in preparation for next phase of growth

VITL, a Vermont-based nonprofit that operates the Vermont Health Information Exchange, announced the following hires and promotions in anticipation of the next phase of its development and growth: Sue Fritz, director of technology; Kristina Choquette, director of operations; Jennifer Starling, operations manager; and Carolyn Stone, portfolio strategist.

Fritz, who joined the VITL leadership team in 2021, has led impactful IT teams, managed a variety of platforms and ensured systems were aligned to business needs. Before joining VITL, she was director of information services at Burlington Electric Department, where she led the development and implementation of a utility-wide information technology strategy.

Choquette rejoined the VITL leadership team after being on hiatus from 2019-20. She has held many roles within the organization, including serving as chief operating officer. Before first joining VITL, Choquette served as manager of clinical systems at Dartmouth Health, vice president of business development at Rapid LLC, and principal business strategy and systems integration consultant at Verizon.

Starling has worked at VITL for more than eight years, most recently as clinical data architect. In her new role as operations manager, she oversees day-to-day activities related to data management and the operation of Vermont Health Information Exchange applications. Starling is a registered nurse and brings her experience of caring for patients and managing patient data to all her work at VITL.

Stone, formerly the organization's director of operations, has accepted the new challenge of overseeing VITL’s portfolio of projects. In this role, she will help to ensure VITL delivers on its contractual and business commitments and achieves the objectives of its strategic plan.
