Felton named winner of SVHC's DAISY Award for May

Medical and surgical nurse Brittany Felton has been named May recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at Southwestern Vermont Health Care. Felton was cited by patients and their family members as "compassionate," "a great cheerleader" and one who "helps patients feel more like themselves."

“Patients appreciate Brittany’s motivational spirit and her extraordinary attention to their unique needs,” said Pamela Duchene, SVHC’s chief nursing officer and vice president for patient care services.

Diocese of Burlington appoints new superintendent of schools

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington has hired David Young, former superintendent of the South Burlington School District, as the new superintendent of Catholic schools. Young began his teaching and administrative career in Fairfax, before serving as the principal of the Georgia Elementary School for 10 years. He spent the last 17 years with the South Burlington School District, 11 of those as superintendent.

VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region welcomes new IT director

Kieran P Keefe of Rutland has been named director of information technology at the VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region, one of the largest home health and hospice providers in the state. Keefe joins VNAHSR from Casella Construction, where he served as an IT specialist.

“Kieran brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the agency,” said Chief Executive Officer Sara C King. “He has a firm grasp of industry issues and initiatives, and will bring an important perspective to the leadership team.”
