Lund, a family-based services provider in Vermont, has hired Mary Burns as its next president and chief executive officer, effective June 1. Burns was president and CEO of the Greater Burlington YMCA from 2007 to 2015, a role she worked her way up to over 20 years with the organization, beginning as office manager. More recently, she held leadership positions in other YMCAs in the Northeast. In one of those roles, her focus was philanthropy; in another she led child care services.

“We are enthusiastic about Mary and her commitment to the well-being of Vermont families,” said Christine Oliver, chair of the Lund board. “Mary’s talents and experience align perfectly with our focus on providing the highest-quality services for our client families and on stewarding our agency toward a strong future.”

Through adoption, treatment and family services, Lund helps families live healthful, independent and engaged lives. The agency is emerging from the pandemic in a position of strength, with programs focused on continuous quality improvement, stable finances, and highly qualified and committed staff across the agency.
