Ten phlebotomists have graduated from a training program developed by the Fletcher Allen Workforce Development Institute and are now working in their new positions at Fletcher Allen Health Care. The students have been employed full-time by Fletcher Allen since April 20.

Rep. Peter Welch today announced the hiring of two Vermonters for positions in his Washington and Vermont offices.

Brent Raymond, a Swanton native and Williston resident, will join Welch’s Vermont office as Business Liaison. Julia Drost, a Brownsville native and University of Vermont graduate, will join Welch’s Washington office as Staff Assistant.

Champlain College celebrated its long-time employees, announced faculty promotions and awarded two top awards to faculty and staff on May 15 at a year-end dinner held at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center.

Emily Joselson, a partner at Langrock Sperry & Wool, LLP, has been named by the board of the Vermont Association for Justice (VTAJ) as secretary. VTAJ is a 30- year-old association of trial attorneys dedicated to protecting the legal rights of Vermont citizens injured by the misconduct or negligence of others.

The eighth annual Rose Black Nursing Excellence Awards at Central Vermont Medical Center were presented on Monday to two women who provide their patients with superior nursing care. Dr. Percy Black, Rose Black’s son, welcomed everyone and gave thanks to today’s award recipients and all of the nurses at CVMC, on behalf of his mother and the Black family.

Shelli Guay of Milton is slated to join the Board of Directors for the March of Dimes Vermont Chapter on June 2. Guay’s intent to join the board will be announced at this Saturday’s March for Babies walk in Burlington, starting at 9:00am at Burlington High School.

Stephen Bogner was promoted to Executive Vice President of Ideas Well Done, LLC, foodservice product designers and developers. Mr. Bogner has been involved in foodservice industry product development activities since 1999 when he joined Colburn Treat to help develop the Stellar line of steamers now owned by Market Forge Industries.

Bill Young, Executive Director of Maple Leaf Farm is pleased to announce that Libby Kennedy was recently hired as an Assessment Counselor. Libby graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with Masters in Community Mental Health, and, completed a clinical fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Division of Addictions.

William A. Baker, President of the Vermont Children's Aid Society Board of Directors announced the appointment of Denise Nagelschmidt as Interim Executive Director of the Vermont Children's Aid Society. Baker noted that Denise has provided exceptional leadership to the agency and its Board of Directors, rising to become President of the Board this last November.

Former President and CEO of the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, Elisabeth Robert, announced her acquisition of a majority interest in Terry Precision Cycling, today’s premier women’s cycling company. Terry’s founder Georgena Terry and Vice President of Marketing Paula Dyba will remain as continuing equity partners in the business.
