University of Vermont names medical education center for alumnus Robert Larner, MD, and Helen Larner
The University of Vermont will name the Medical Education Center at the College of Medicine for alumnus and Burlington native Robert Larner, MD, and Helen Larner, for their decades-long efforts to make medical education more affordable for a generation of students, and for inspiring the support of more than 1700 donors.
Johnson State College senior Shane Bouthillette, who has lobbied the Vermont Legislature over the past couple years to increase state funding for higher education, has been appointed by Gov. Peter Shumlin to a two-year term on the Governor’s Veterans Advisory Council.
DeWolfe Morrow, rising senior at Burlington College took first place at The Creative Minds Filmmaker Institute in Cannes short film competition. The film also received Best Script, Best Editing and Best Actor.
"My inspiration for the film was to convey the notion that everyone is created equal, regardless of their status," says Morrow.
