The Burlington Business Association (BBA) recently welcomed four new members to its Board of Directors. Richard Deane of TruexCullins Architecture, David Farrell of Farrell’s Distributing, Stephanie Miller Reiskin of R.E.M. Development, and David Provost of Champlain College officially joined the board last month at the BBA’s 35th annual dinner celebration. They were each appointed to a three-year term.
Richard Deane has been a Principal at TruexCullins since 2002 and leads the Higher Education and Workplace Studios of the Architecture and Interior Design firm of 25 people. Richard attended Syracuse University School of Architecture, studied in Italy, interned and practiced as an architect in Washington, DC and lived and worked in Frankfurt, Germany prior to returning to his hometown of Burlington in 1997.
Miller Reiskin is Vice President and Director of Marketing with R.E.M. Development and a partner in The Miller Realty Group. Prior to joining the family business, Stephanie worked in marketing research most recently in London where she lived for 11 years. Stephanie returned to Vermont in 2009 and is also a member of the Chittenden Country Commercial Real Estate Association.
David Farrell is President and CEO of Farrell Distributing Corp. with operations in South Burlington and Rutland, VT. David is a Burlington native and third generation owner of the business. He has served on the Vermont Retail Grocers and National Beer Wholesalers Association boards and is the current President of the Vermont Wholesale Beverage Association.
David Provost has been the Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration at Champlain College since 2005. Prior to his career in higher education David served as the CEO of Skis Dynastar North America. A native Vermonter, David has lived in the Burlington area since 1991, and is a 1986 graduate of St. Michael's College.
“We pride ourselves on having a strong, diverse board of directors, who represent the business community of Burlington,” BBA Executive Director Kelly Devine said. “It is an honor to welcome such a talented group to our board. I look forward to working with them to further our organization’s mission.”
Tom Brassard, President of Catamount Marketing and newly appointed board chair, is enthusiastic about the direction the BBA is moving.
“The past two years have seen significant positive development and community involvement of the BBA and the value we’re delivering to our members as a result,” Brassard said. “I’m excited to welcome these new board members. The skills, experiences, and connections they bring will help the BBA to continue on our path,” he added.
The group has replaced retiring board members Bob McKearin of Dinse Knapp & McAndrew, Phelan Fretz of the Echo Center, and Chris Reck of Direct Design.
