Norwich University is honored to announce that former U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole will deliver its 2015 commencement address to graduating seniors on Saturday, May 9.

Sen. Dole will receive an honorary degree from Norwich University.

The Vermont Arts Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Mutrux as artist and community programs manager. Mutrux brings to this position broad knowledge, experience, and training as an arts administrator. She is the founder and former executive director of The Art House in Craftsbury Common and has worked for Craftsbury Schools and Sterling College.

The Addison County Chamber’s board of directors has appointed Sue Hoxie as its new president. Sue has served in the role of interim president since October 1st when her predecessor, Andy Mayer, relocated to Washington State. Sue has been with the Chamber since 2008 as its Marketing & Communications Director.

Michael Huyler, a resident of Sheldon Springs, Vt., recently received a $2,000 scholarship from the Vermont Society of Land Surveyors Education Foundation.

Grace Cottage Foundation announced today that Patricia Mack of Grafton, Vermont, has been elected to its Board of Directors. Born in and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Mack graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Interior Design. She worked as a designer at Ethan Allen in Connecticut, and later ran her own interior decorating company.

Vermont’s Women Business Owners Network (WBON), an organization that connects and cultivates leaders, entrepreneurs and business owners, is pleased to announce the election of four new board members, and a new slate of officers.

Veteran Kurn Hattin teacher Tom Fontaine has taken over as Acting Principal of the school at Kurn Hattin Homes for Children. Fontaine stepped in to fill the position following the passing of former Principal and long-time Kurn Hattin educator, Tom Fahner, who lost an extended battle with cancer in January.

In January, Goddard College named faculty member Ju-Pong Lin as the new Program Director of its low-residency MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts (MFAIA) Program. Lin will lead the program at both its residency sites in Plainfield, Vermont, and Port Townsend, Washington.

Berkshire Bank has announced that Heather Lashway has been promoted to the new role of First Vice President, retail banking district manager, New York and Vermont. In this new position, Lashway will lead Berkshire's New York and Vermont branches and regional managers along with her continued leadership of Berkshire Banc Investment Services team.
