United Way of Chittenden County welcomes new staff members

United Way of Chittenden County announces the hiring of two new staff members:

Amy Johnson is the new RSVP/Foster Grandparent Director. Johnson has been working in the human services field for over 15 years, her most recent position was as a Prevention Specialist and Trainer for Prevent Child Abuse Vermont, working with schools, social service agencies, and early childhood and youth programs throughout the state of Vermont. She has also worked as a Program Director of Burlington Kids and the Adventure Learning Center Special Needs Camp, as an Intercultural Trainer and Program Developer in Thailand, an Experiential Educator both domestically and internationally, and a Social Worker in her hometown of Detroit. Johnson completed her MA in Social Justice and Intercultural Service, Leadership, and Management at the SIT Graduate Institute in Brattleboro.

Lenore Budd has been hired as a Volunteer Programs Assistant. Budd comes to United Way of Chittenden County after years of both being a volunteer and managing volunteers. She served on the South Burlington Recreation Path Committee for thirteen years and is now the Chair of the Trails Committee in Hinesburg. As Trail Manager for the Catamount Trail, Vermont’s 300-mile backcountry ski trail, she recruited, trained, and managed adult and student volunteers who cared for the trail and led ski events. As Membership Coordinator at Shelburne Farms, she oversaw the Annual Fund and managed volunteers for trail maintenance and many events.

United Way of Chittenden County motivates the whole community to contribute to its annual Community Campaign which is supported by local workplace campaigns and individual donors. The Campaign supports strategic initiatives, programs, volunteer efforts and advocacy work that improve education, income and health.
