Mike Edson, Drum Major of Fort Ticonderoga’s Fife and Drum Corps, received Fort Ticonderoga’s Lifetime Leadership Achievement Award during the Saturday evening (July 25) Fife and Drum Corps Twilight Concert, in recognition of his dedicated forty years of lifetime leadership, commitment, and support of Fort Ticonderoga and the Fife and Drum Corps.

Gov. Peter Shumlin has announced that he will appoint attorney Kirstin Schoonover, presently of Vermont Legal Aid, Inc., to the Vermont trial bench. Schoonover fills the seat left open by the appointment of Judge Harold “Duke” Eaton, Jr., to serve on the Vermont Supreme Court.
Erin Fernandez, executive director of Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports, recently announced the addition of four new staff members to the team. Maggie Burke, a former Vermont Adaptive program coordinator, has been named the new managing director. Kelly Walsh will take the helm as the northern program coordinator responsible for programs in Chittenden County and at Bolton Valley Ski Area.

AllEarth Renewables, the award winning Vermont solar tracker manufacturer, has announced the hiring of Anthony Lauzon as its Lead Electronics Technician.
Lauzon, of Burlington, was a technician in the United States Air Force and has a Bachelors of Arts in literature from Castleton State College and a Bachelor's of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Vermont.
