Community National Bank has promoted Andrew Plante to compliance officer and welcomed Matthew Grenier as information security officer.

Plante joined CNB in 2015 as a teller in the Derby office. He then took the position as a loan processor until 2017, when he joined the compliance department.

Gov. Phil Scott has appointed Zachary Harvey, of Castleton, to fill the vacant Rutland-3 seat in the Vermont House of Representatives. He replaces Chris Brown, who resigned last month.

The South Burlington accounting firm McSoley McCoy and Co. has announced the January promotions of staff accountant Cole Sheffert and audit supervisor Courtney Belisle.

Attorney Ryan Flatley has been elected director at the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin. He is based in the firm’s Lebanon, New Hampshire, office and serves clients throughout Vermont and New Hampshire.

Vermont Conservation Voters, a statewide organization that works to elect environmentally friendly candidates to public office, has named Dan Fingas as its new executive director, effective Jan. 6. He succeeds Lauren Hierl, who began work in August as executive director of the Vermont Natural Resources Council, a strategic partner of VCV.

Christopher L. Caldwell has been promoted to president and CEO at Vermont-based Community National Bank and its parent company, Community Bancorp., effective Jan. 1. He succeeds Kathy Austin, who retired on Dec. 31 but will continue to serve on the boards of both the bank and the company.

Educator Alice Charkes, of Brattleboro, and transportation planner Mark Anders, of Bennington, have joined the board of directors at Local Motion, Vermont’s statewide bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organization.

Vermont Mutual Insurance Group has finalized its leadership succession plan with company President Mark J. McDonnell accepting the role of CEO. He succeeds outgoing CEO and current board chair Daniel C. Bridge, who retired from Vermont Mutual on Dec. 31.
