Governor appoints five to newly created Land Use Review Board

Janet Hurley

Gov. Phil Scott has appointed members to all five slots of the newly created Land Use Review Board, the organization responsible for the administration of Act 250, Vermont’s land use and development law.

Scott named Janet Hurley of Winhall, assistant director and planning program manager at the Bennington County Regional Commission, as the board's inaugural chair. She will serve alongside members:

  • Alex Weinhagen, of Burlington, director of planning zoning for the town of Hinesburg.

  • L. Brooke Dingledine, of Randolph, land use and environmental attorney at the Barre law firm Valsangiacomo, Detora & McQuesten.

  • Kirsten Sultan, of Lyndonville, Act 250 coordinator for District 7 at the Natural Resources Board, the organization that has been reconstituted into the Land Use Review Board.

  • Sarah Hadd, of St. Albans, town manager of Fairfax.

“I’m confident this board has the diverse expertise, work ethic and passion to tackle the work that’s required in Act 181 while also forwarding common sense improvements to the law to further our shared goals," Scott said. “I’m appreciative of Janet, Alex, Brooke, Kirsten and Sarah for serving and believe they will serve Vermonters well in their new roles.”
