Bradford J. Helgeson, former executive vice president and chief financial officer at Covanta Holding Corp. in Morristown, New Jersey, has been appointed EVP and CFO at Casella Waste Systems in Rutland, effective Nov. 6. President and Chief Financial Officer Edmond “Ned” R. Coletta will retain his role as president.

United Counseling Service, a private, nonprofit community mental health center serving residents of Bennington County, has hired Henrietta Edgar as its new head of developmental services. Edgar brings to UCS more than a decade of experience in the health and human services field, serving most recently as administrator of residential services for the Center for Disability Services in Albany, New York.

William Cleary, owner Outdoor Sports in Williston, and Pierre LeBlanc, president and CEO of Engelberth Construction in Colchester, were recently presented with Department of Defense Patriot Awards for their support of Guard and Reserve employees.

Cleary was recognized for maintaining the vacation pay of employee Kevin Eng, a sergeant in the Vermont Army National Guard, after Eng was unexpectedly moved from inactive to active Guard status for multiple deployments.
