Champlain Housing Trust recognizes Sanders, McClure and Kemp at annual meeting
The Champlain Housing Trust elected Board members and presented awards to three affordable housing champions at its Annual Meeting held Saturday, January 31. The event was attended by 150 members of the Housing Trust. Included in the awards were a United States Senator, a philanthropist and a resident community activist. US Senator Bernie Sanders was presented with CHT’s Tim McKenzie Award, named for the organization’s first Executive Director, for his steadfast commitment to the community land trust model for nearly 30 years in public office.
Welch named to Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
Rep. Welch has been reappointed to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Welch, who served on the committee during his first term in Congress, will also serve on two of its subcommittees: National Security and Foreign Affairs, and Domestic Policy. In total, Welch will serve on three committees and five subcommittees during the 111th Congress.
Susan J. Moses, former president of Merchants Trust, named Saint Michael's College Major Gifts Officer
With substantial banking and higher education development work in her background, Susan J. Moses of Burlington re-joined Saint Michael's College at the start of 2009 as a major gifts officer, with particular focus on planned giving. Moses worked previously at Saint Michael’s as director of planned giving from 2003 to 2006; she worked for a year in real estate, and worked in 2007 as director of planned giving and the parent fund at Champlain College.
