National sales manager assumes responsibility for BioTek's Canadian distribution

Craig Abrahams, National Sales Manager at BioTek Instruments, Inc., will expand his responsibilities to include BioTek's sales and distribution efforts in Canada. His current responsibilities include management of BioTek's proprietary direct distribution throughout the United States and will now also include Canada – including the Field Sales Representatives, Canadian Distribution, Inside Sales, and Field Applications Support Team. Abrahams is based at the company’s corporate headquarters in Winooski, Vermont and reports to Gary Barush, Director, Marketing & Sales.

Nationally Renowned Scholar, Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr., to Speak at Southern Vermont College Event

Scholar, editor, literary critic, researcher, historian, and author Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr., will speak on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. at the Bennington Center for the Arts as part of Southern Vermont College’s 2009-2010 From Inspiration to Innovation lecture series. Gates’ talk, entitled “Genealogy, Genetics and African-American History,” is free and open to the public and will be followed by a book-signing.

Wells River Savings Bank appoints new operations and deposit accounts specialist

Barbara Ziter has joined Wells River Savings Bank as the Bank's Operations/Deposit Accounts Specialist.

Barb has more than 20 years experience in banking and has worked in retail banking as a teller, customer service representative and IRA specialist. She has completed several courses through the American Institute of Banking and Center for Financial Training. Her specialties are Health Savings Accounts, all types of Individual Retirement Accounts and CDARS.

Van Alstyne heads Web and Interactive at VPT

Travis Van Alstyne has been promoted to the new position of director of web and interactive content at Vermont Public Television. He leads the statewide public television network’s digital media and social networking activities.

Richard Burgoyne, M.D. joins Waterbury Medical Associates
