Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene announces the arrival of six new holiday card designs for sale to benefit Cheshire Health Foundation.

Five of the new designs feature photography by Jeffrey Newcomer, MD, Keene. His photographic landscape images include snowy woods from Chesterfield, a frozen pond in Harrisville, and Central Square’s Christmas Tree. The sales of these cards benefit the Vision 2020 fund, a resource established to provide financial support to create the healthiest community in the nation.

Yankee Magazine’s November/December issue includes a story called “Angels Among Us 2009,” by Ian Aldrich, featuring four New Englanders who have made a significant difference in the lives of others. Vershire, Vermont, resident Wynona Ward is recognized for founding Have Justice Will Travel (HJWT), a free legal clinic for abused women and children from low-income families. The American Bar Association calls attorney Ward, now HJWT’s executive director, a “road warrior” in the fight against child and spousal abuse.

Dinse, Knapp & McAndrew has announced that New England Super Lawyers has recognized attorney Afi Ahmadi as a Rising Star. The Rising Stars are featured in the New England Super Lawyers publication. Attorneys are identified as being a Rising Stars based on extensive nomination and polling among New England attorneys who are asked to nominate the best attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.

Peter J. McDougall of Paul Frank + Collins has been elected as the President of the Board of Directors of Champlain Community Services, Inc. (“CCS”). CCS is a United Way member agency that has provided support to people with developmental disabilities throughout northern Vermont for over 40 years. The mission of CCS is to help individuals with developmental disabilities experience all of life's opportunities by enhancing self-esteem, maximizing independence and enabling community membership.
