Vermont Chamber Employees Recognized for Leadership in Business

Two Vermont Chamber of Commerce employees have recently been recognized for their depth of knowledge and contribution to Vermont's business community: Vicky Tebbetts, Vice President of the Vermont Chamber's hospitality division, was appointed to the Travel Recreation Council (TRC); and Antonia Opitz , Director of Events, was selected by Vermont Business Magazine for a “Rising Star” Award.

Bill Young, Executive Director of Maple Leaf Farm is pleased to announce the

promotion of Lissa Carlino to Addictions Treatment Counselor. Lissa has an

undergraduate degree in psychology and is currently enrolled in Johnson

State College's Clinical Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling

graduate program. Originally from Minnesota, she brings experience working

with sexual assault survivors, developmentally disabled individuals, and as

an elementary school teaching assistant. Lissa resides in Richmond.

Peters of Whitingham and Pierson of Shoreham Elected to Vermont Public

Television Community Council

Olga Peters of Whitingham, Vt., and Paige Pierson of Shoreham, Vt., have

been elected to Vermont Public Television's Community Council, an advisory

group that helps the statewide public television network respond to the

needs and interests of Vermonters.

Peters is a journalist with the Brattleboro Commons, and she has film and TV

production and script development experience in the U.S. and U.K. She

Gary Scudder Recognized for his Ability to Engage Students in Global Learning

Gary Scudder, assistant dean for

Global Engagement at Champlain College has been named the 2010 Vermont

Professor of the Year by The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of

Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. He

was selected from more than 300 top professors nominated by their

colleges and universities across the United States. The award was

presented at a special ceremony held in Washington, D.C. This is the
