Dr. William Arban joins Family Practice of Newport

Much of his life has been spent in the warmth of the southern United States but the snow and cold didn’t scare William Arban, M.D. away when he learned that the Family Practice of Newport was looking for another physician.

Dr. Arban began seeing patients at the practice in January. He joins Drs. James Holcomb, Rachel DiSanto, and John Lippmann as well as nurse practitioner Linda Chasse and physician assistant Jennifer Stanton. The practice is in the new primary care building located on Medical Village Drive on the campus of North Country Hospital.

Dorset Theatre Festival welcomes Megan Thörn as their new president

The Board of the Dorset Theatre Festival has welcomed Megan Thörn as their new president this February. Megan is taking over the reins from Jean Miller of Arlington, who served in that capacity for six years and who set in place the plans for the theatre’s current rejuvenation. Megan is ideally suited to continue that work and is very excited about helping continue to grow DTF's recent success as the festival prepares for its exciting new Summer Season 2011.

Record Highs for Lyndon Atmospheric Science Students

Lyndon State College sent a record high twelve students and two faculty members to Seattle, Washington, from January 22 to 27 for the 91st Annual American Meteorological Society (AMS) meeting. Also setting a record with five presenting students, Lyndon was well represented in the national conference.

“Our students’ presentations were all very professional,” said Professor Nolan Atkins, who along with Assistant Professor Jay Schafer accompanied scholars to Seattle.

The North Hero House welcomes new head chef

The North Hero House is pleased to welcome Jean-Luc Matecat as its new head chef. Chef Matecat is a native Vermonter with family roots in France who has the perfect blend of experience and cultural heritage to bring a European influence to the food of New England served at the North Hero House. In the most recent three years Mr. Matecat was executive chef at Cinco Restaurant, a Zagat-rated eatery on Nantucket Island. Prior to Cinco, he was executive chef at the Warren House Restaurant in Warren, VT.

Kristena Morse has started at PMG as Assistant Account Executive. A Michigan native, Ms. Morse graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in public relations in 2008. Upon graduation, she relocated to Louisville, KY and was a public relations associate with Guthrie/Mayes Public Relations. She now resides in Burlington.
