Goddard College hires Faith Brown as Chief Finance and Administration Officer

Faith Brown, former CEO of the Vermont Community Foundation and resident of Underhill, Vermont, joined the Goddard College staff as Chief Finance and Administration Officer on Tuesday, July 5, 2011. Brown replaces former CFO Bob Kenny who served the College for two years before recently returning to teaching at St. Michael’s College.

Richard I. Rothstein, MD, named interim Chair of Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School and Dartmouth-Hitchcock

Gastroenterologist Richard I. Rothstein, MD has been named interim Chair of Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School and Dartmouth-Hitchcock. Rothstein, currently the Chief of the Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and a professor of medicine and of surgery at Dartmouth Medical School, will serve during the transition to a new permanent chair. He will succeed Dr. Murray Korc, who will step down after eight years as chair of medicine. Dr. Rothstein’s appointment takes effect August 1.

Matthew Rapp, MD, MS joins CVMC Hospitalist Team

Dr. Matthew Rapp is a recent addition to the CVMC Hospitalist Team. Originally from northern Virginia, he received his BS, Cum Laude from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and his MS in Human Genetics from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Medical School and internship were at George Washington University School of Medicine and Medical Center. Dr. Rapp’s residency was at the University of Vermont/Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

Citizens Bank has hired MaryBeth DeFalco as business banking officer in the Upper Valley and Rutland/West markets in New Hampshire and Vermont. She is responsible for overseeing the development of new and existing relationships with business customers, consulting with business owners to identify banking needs and working with business banking officers and branch staff to provide quality customer service. Her market area includes the towns of Lebanon, West Lebanon, and Hanover, N.H., and White River Junction, Woodstock, Rutland, Castleton, West Pawlet, and Poultney,Vt.

New appointments named at Bromley

Bill Cairns, Bromley Mountain’s recently named General Manager, has wasted little time in shaping the storied mountain’s management team more to his liking.

“I’ve been with Bromley for 30 years, 25 of those years as Director of Mountain Operations,” says Cairns. “Believe me, I know this mountain and know the depth of talent we’re fortunate enough to have in management. With my [former] position open, I had an opportunity to restructure assignments, capitalizing on everyone’s strengths, all from within.”

Wong named UVM Associate Dean for Continuing Medical Education

Cheung Wong, M.D., associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences and director of gynecologic oncology, has been appointed as associate dean for continuing medical education at the UVM College of Medicine. The announcement was made today by Frederick C. Morin, III, M.D., dean of the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and Paul A. Taheri, M.D., M.B.A., senior associate dean for clinical affairs and president of the UVM Medical Group.
