Michelle Packard promoted to manager of bond financings and investments at VHFA

Executive Director Sarah Carpenter announced Michelle Packard of Burlington has been promoted to Manager of Bond Financings and Investments at Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA).

Packard joined the Agency on a temporary basis in 2008, working in the Agency’s Homeownership Department. She was quickly promoted and joined as a full-time employee in the Finance Department as a Financial Analyst. Before joining VHFA, she spent nearly two decades as Treasurer for Summit Financial Center, a Burlington mortgage company.

Thomas Kimball joins VHFA as Controller

Executive Director Sarah Carpenter announced Thomas Kimball of Ferrisburgh has joined Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) as Controller. Kimball is a CPA and comes to the Agency with over 20 years experience in the accounting field. Most recently, he worked with Aon Insurance Managers as an Account Executive. Before that, he spent 15 years with Shelburne Corporation, most of the time as the controller, and also worked as an independent accountant. Kimball holds a B.A. in Accounting earned at Bentley College.

Randolph’s own Dr. Cristine Maloney joins Gifford Internal Medicine

For years, Cristine Maloney has been fielding two questions from her Randolph neighbors. “Are you done (your medical training) yet?” and “When are you coming to Gifford?”

After completing pre-med and doctor of medicine programs at the University of Vermont, her residency through Yale and a one-year palliative medicine fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, she finally has the answer for which community members were hoping.

Poulos Insurance hires Joshua Pepin, CIC for their South Burlington Office

Poulos Insurance hired Joshua Pepin, CIC as an Account Executive, in their South Burlington office. Pepin is a Vermont native, a St. Michael’s Graduate, and brings nearly 8 years of experience to the Agency. Josh currently resides in Essex Jct with his wife. He will be offering both Commercial and Personal property and casualty insurance.

Saint Michael’s names installation sculptor/digital artist/site-specific artist new assistant professor of fine arts

Saint Michael's College has named Brian D. Collier, installation artist/sculptor/digital media innovator as a new assistant professor of fine arts, starting this semester teaching courses in digital media and sculpture. Professor Collier’s work repeatedly addresses issues of environmental concern.

Edna LaClair-Petit joins North Country Hospital

One of Orleans County’s most respected social workers has joined the staff of North Country Hospital in Newport. Edna (Trombley) LaClair-Petit began work as the medical social worker at two hospital owned practices – Community Medical Associates and Family Practice of Newport.

The practices are located in the new primary care building located on Medical Village Drive on the hospital campus.

“I have been welcomed here with open arms,” Edna said. “Everybody has been great.”
