Maniscalco named Vice President, Strategic Initiatives at Champlain College

Chuck Maniscalco of Shelburne has been named Vice President, Strategic Initiatives by Champlain College President David F. Finney. He began work on July 28. Initially, his focus is to take on the leadership of the Continuing Professional Studies Division, an important growth vehicle for the college over the next several years. This role is expected to last through the academic year. Additional accountabilities will be added as his role evolves over the next several months. Maniscalco moved to Vermont in 2009 to be the CEO of Seventh Generation in Burlington.

Ben Pasquino, Business Analyst/QA Lead, will work on defining business requirements for eCommerce projects. He previously worked as a Business Analyst on multiple Tax Software Implementation Projects at CGI Technologies & Solutions in Raleigh, NC and Montpelier, VT. He holds a BS from Norwich University.

Starting this year, American high-school students who pass the Advanced Placement® program’s Literature and Composition test might owe two St. Johnsbury Academy English teachers a “Thank you.”

Steven Jolliffe, the Academy’s English Department Chair, and colleague Richard McCarthy, have published a 211-page, softcover study and practice guide to accompany the course’s primary text, Literature: an Introduction to Reading and Writing, 2nd Edition.

Saint Michael’s names guitarist, ethnomusicologist as Assistant Professor of Music

Dr. William Lee Ellis, Memphis blues musician, classical guitarist, and ethnomusicologist, has been named Assistant Professor of Fine Arts, Music, at Saint Michael's College, starting this fall. Trained as a classical guitarist, Dr. Ellis is now a great advocate, performer and writer about traditional, blue grass and old time music.
