Kinney Pike Insurance recognizes 2011 Top Producers

Kinney Pike Insurance, a leading independent insurance agency in Vermont, announced its top producers for 2011, recognized for producing the most new business in both the commercial and personal insurance lines of business. Jody Freeman and Morgan Guillette have been honored as co-winners of the 2011 Barwood Sales Achievement Award for personal lines insurance. Peter Werner has been honored with the 2011 Dorsey Award, awarded to the commercial insurance Account Executive producing the top sales.

Peter R. Jones promoted to Senior Commercial Relationship Manager, SVP

People’s United Bank announced today that Peter Jones has been promoted to Senior Commercial Relationship Manager, SVP at People’s United Bank in Vermont.

Jones began his banking career in 1988, with Chittenden Bank. He has also held positions with VEDA and Union Bank. In 2009, Jones again joined People’s United Bank as a Commercial Relationship Manager, Vice President. He works out of the Burlington office and serves commercial banking customers in the Northern part of the State.

St Michael’s Professor, Dr. Edward Mahoney, receives top award from the Association of Graduate Programs in Ministry

Essex Junction resident, Dr. Edward Mahoney, professor of religious studies at Saint Michael's College, was awarded the 2012 Called and Gifted Award by the Association of Graduate Programs in Ministry (AGPIM) at their annual meeting held Feb. 11 at the Redemptorist Renewal Center in Tucson, Arizona.

Professor Mahoney is director of the Graduate Theology and Pastoral Ministry program at Saint Michael’s, as well as a professor in the Religious Studies Department.

Bonnie Ferro named assistant director at Shelburne Museum

Shelburne Museum Director Thomas Denenberg announced the appointment of Bonnie Ferro as assistant director.

Ferro will oversee income generating operations at the museum including licensing, facility rentals, the Museum Store and cafeteria. She also serves as a liaison to the museum’s board of trustees. Ferro joined Shelburne Museum in 2007 when she was hired as the director’s office coordinator.

Laurel Bongiorno, director of Champlain College’s Masters of Education Program, recently attended “The Association for the Study of Play” (TASP) Conference in Albuquerque, NM Feb. 15-18 and presented a paper on parents’ perceptions of preschool children’s learning through play, the topic of her dissertation.

Seven elite UPS drivers from Vermont achieve Circle of Honor

UPS has announced seven elite drivers from Vermont are among 1,235 newly inducted worldwide into the Circle of Honor, an honorary organization for UPS drivers who have achieved 25 or more years of accident-free driving.

Vermont boasts 19 active Circle of Honor drivers with a combined 503 years of accident-free driving. Joseph Young of Marshfield is Vermont's senior safe driver, with 31 years of accident-free driving under his belt.
