John Conlon promoted to Chief Investment Officer

People’s United Bank has announced that John Conlon has been promoted to Chief Investment Officer at People’s United Bank in Vermont.

John is responsible for the entire investment portfolio in Vermont and oversees Vermont’s seven portfolio managers, part of a team of professionals that have responsibility for managing and monitoring investment activity, managing pensions and other retirement plans, working with external analysts and maintaining good investor relations. In addition, he is a member of several corporate committees within the bank that determine policies and procedures relating to the management of client funds.

John began his career in the investment research and management industry in 1983. In 2008, he joined People’s United Bank, as a vice president and senior portfolio manager. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, University of Virginia and Santa Clara University where he received his MBA. Previous to entering the investment industry, John worked at NASA as a research scientist.

John resides with his family in Manchester, VT. He is an active member of his community and currently serves as president of the Rotary Club of Manchester, board member of the Rotary Club of Manchester Fund and as a member of the Burr and Burton Booster Club. John is also a member of the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute and Vermont Society of Chartered Financial Analysts.
