Brassard joins CVAA Board of Directors

Tom Brassard Owner and President of Paw Print & Mail and Catamount Marketing joins the CVAA Board of Directors. Brassard is a native of Burlington, attending Rice Memorial High School (1973) and the University of Vermont earning a BS in Business Administration (1978). In 1990 Brassard started Paw Print & Mail – a full-service printing and business mailing company, and in 2010, founded Catamount Marketing – an inbound marketing company. He serves on the Board as Vice Chair for the Burlington Business Association.

Colleen Horan, MD, MPH joins Central Vermont Women’s Health

Colleen Horan, MD recently joined Central Vermont Women’s Health in Medical Office Building A, attached to the hospital. She is also seeing patients at their new office at Waterbury Medical Associates on South Main Street in Waterbury.

Dr. Horan joins Roger Ehret, MD, Sheila Glaess, MD, Roger Knowlton, DO, Julie Vogel, MD, Gail Yanowitch, MD and Rebecca Montgomery, CNM, MSN and Chris Malcolm, CNM, FNP.

NBT Bank hires Roy as Senior Commercial Relationship Manager

NBT Bank Regional President Matthew Durkee announced that Robert A. Roy has been hired as vice president and senior commercial banking relationship manager.

In this position, Roy is responsible for developing and managing business relationships with the bank’s commercial customers throughout western Vermont. He is based at the NBT Bank’s Vermont Regional Office in Burlington.

Middlebury College awards 2012 Perkins Award to Emily Proctor

Middlebury College has awarded the 2012 Perkins Award for Excellence in Teaching to Emily Proctor, assistant professor of mathematics.

A native Vermonter, Proctor went to Bowdoin College and graduatedsumma cum laude. It was during her senior year at Bowdoin that she decided to become a mathematics teacher. So after a year spent working for an Internet company and a gourmet food shop, she was one of six students in 1997 selected for Dartmouth College’s doctoral program in mathematics.

Mayor Miro Weinberger appoints Ian P. Carleton as City Attorney

Mayor Miro Weinberger today announced the appointment of Ian P. Carleton, Esq. as City Attorney for the City of Burlington. Carleton currently is a partner and shareholder at the Burlington law firm Sheehey Furlong & Behm, P.C. and a former Burlington City Council President. Weinberger has asked the Board of Finance and City Council to approve the appointment at their April 30, 2012 meetings.
