Berkshire Bank Foundation announces scholarship recipients

Berkshire Bank has announced that it has selected 18 high school seniors to receive a total of $36,000 in scholarships through its Berkshire Bank Foundation Scholarship Awards Program. Each of the recipients will receive $2,000.

A total of 93 employee volunteers reviewed more than 170 applications to select the winners. The winners all live in the regions served by Berkshire Bank, including eastern and central New York, western Massachusetts and southern Vermont.

Vermont Electric Coop announces annual meeting election results

4,117 Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) members cast ballots during the annual election completed on Saturday, May 12, 2012. Results for 7 ballot items and three director elections were announced on Saturday morning at the 74th annual meeting of the VEC membership which was held at Jay Peak Resort in Jay, Vermont.

Three positions on the VEC board of directors were up for election. In total, fifteen candidates vied for the director seats which each carry a four year term.

Bridgewater State University honors Vermont Tech President Philip Conroy

Rick Boswell joins Windham Foundation Board of Trustees

The Board of the Grafton, Vermont-based Windham Foundation announced today that Fredric (Rick) Boswell has been appointed as a member of its Board of Trustees.

For the past 20 years, Boswell has worked in the venture capital industry in startup and emerging growth companies on the East and West Coast. Prior to that, he held senior level marketing and management positions in the technology industry.

Long-time St Michael’s College Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students, Michael Samara, announces his retirement

Michael Samara, who has been Saint Michael's College Vice President for Student Affairs/ Dean of Students for 35 years, has announced his retirement at the end of June 2012. A tribute reception brought tears and laughs as a large gathering of Saint Michael’s students, faculty and staff honored Mr. Samara with toasts and roasts and heartfelt words on May 1.
