J. Churchill Hindes PhD, who steps down in mid-July.

Allbee and Diamant become trustees of Vermont Historical Society

Roger Allbee recently joined the Vermont Historical Society as a trustee. Formerly the Secretary of Agriculture, Food and Markets for the State of Vermont, Allbee hails from Townshend, Vermont. He has a passion for Vermont and the history of agriculture in the state. His ancestry traces back 13 generations to one of the original Hampshire Grant settlers of “Fane” (Newfane), Vermont.

BBA announces employee promotion

The Burlington Business Association (BBA) is pleased to announce the promotion of Russ Elek to Communications and Membership Manager. Elek, who signed his new contract in early May, has been with the organization since October of 2011.

“Russ started here as a part-time employee. He worked hard, took on extra projects and gave 100%,” said BBA Executive Director Kelly Devine. “His extra effort is what created the need for him to be here full-time and we were happy to offer him this promotion.”

Union Bank announces New Chief Executive Officer and other promotions

Kenneth D. Gibbons, Chairman of Union Bank’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the promotions that took place at the Bank’s Annual Meeting held on May 16, 2012.

David S. Silverman, President of the Union Bank was promoted to Chief Executive Officer, the final step in a succession plan for leadership that began in 2010. Mr. Silverman was also promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Union Bankshares, Inc.

Guay hired as Marketing Manager for Union Bank

Shawn Bard and Cynthia Perdue join Ledyard National Bank

Ledyard National Bank is pleased to announce that Shawn Bard has joined its Route 120, Lebanon, office as its Assistant Vice President and Banking Office Manager. Shawn has over 3 years of experience in retail banking. Prior to joining Ledyard, he held the position of Assistant Banking Center Manager and Officer at Bank of America in Hanover, NH. He was responsible for managing all aspects of the business and developing future growth plans in the region. He also had an integral part in managing one of the largest bank branches in the state of New Hampshire.
