VSA, the international organization on arts and disability and an affiliate of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, along with CVS Caremark All Kids Can, have announced the 102 students of all abilities that will be featured in the 2012 All Kids Can CREATE exhibition "What Inspires Me." All Kids Can CREATE is an annual national program from which artwork submitted by students, ages 5-15, is selected to represent each state and the District of Columbia for a national art exhibition.

WOMM-LP 'The Radiator' programmer Anne Barbano is receiving a 2012 Governor's Award for Outstanding Community Service for her autism & disabilities radio program 'The Next Frontier.' Since 2007 – as a volunteer – she has interviewed families, policy-makers, medical experts, filmmakers, legislators, and diverse personalities that have informative perspectives on disability issues. The Vermont Arts Council is pleased to announce two outstanding contributors to Vermont’s cultural community will be honored with the Walter Cerf Medal for Outstanding Achievement in the Arts: Arnie Malina and Altoon Sultan. Both recipients were honored in a ceremony Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Vermont State House in Montpelier, VT.

Jeanne Collins, Superintendent of Burlington Schools, accepted the Greater Burlington YMCA's second annual Youth Development Award at the Y's Annual Meeting, held Thursday, May 31st at the Burlington Country Club. The Y presents this award to a member of the community who shares the Y's vision that every child will learn the foundational skills, build healthy relationships, and develop the self-esteem necessary to become confident, connected, and secure adults.

Tim Jerman recently joined the Vermont Historical Society Board of Trustees. He was the Director of Human Resources for VSAC (Vermont Student Assistance Corporation), retiring in 2008. Tim is currently an active Member of the Vermont House of Representatives.

Peter W. Leberman, Esq., of Concord, New Hampshire, recently joined Northeast Delta Dental as its general counsel, after providing legal counsel to Delta Dental Plan of New Hampshire for many years as an attorney with Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA. Attorney Leberman will fill the position created by the retirement of Attorney Kenneth Robinson, Jr., Esq., after 12 years of service.

Shawn Bryan, Chair for the Vermont Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) presented John desGroseilliers, Ombudsman Director for the Vermont Committee, the ESGR Spirit of Volunteerism Award. This award is bestowed upon volunteers who have displayed the highest level of volunteer service.
