At the 146th annual meeting held on May 31st, five new candidates were presented and approved for membership on the Y board of directors. CEO and President Mary Burns announced the appointment of the following individuals to the Y Board of Directors.

Amy Mellencamp, Principal of Burlington High School and Y member.

Dr. Craig Jones, Executive Director of Vermont’s Blueprint for Health, a statewide chronic care initiative focused on preventing illness.

Andrew Martin, Senior Vice President of PC Construction.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties (VNA) proudly announces Diane Olechna as the new Adult Day Program Manager. Olechna recently moved to Vermont from Maryland, where she was the Director of Quality, Risk Management, and Educational Services at the Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital of Maryland and now resides in Shelburne.

Michael R. Tuttle, President and CEO of Merchants Bank, today announced the promotion of Janet P. Spitler to the office of Executive Vice President. Ms. Spitler leads the Finance Department and is CFO and Treasurer.

Morway’s Moving and Storage announced that it has purchased a new warehouse at 150 Krupp Drive in Williston, Vermont, and will be moving its operations. The ribbon cutting for the new location was held on May 30, 2012 at 3 p.m. Former Governor Jim Douglas and Tom Torti of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce was in attendance as well as Kelly Devine of the Burlington Business Association and other business leaders.

Environmental Compliance Services, Inc. (ECS) announces Jaime Losch completed her Lead (paint) Inspector and Lead Risk Assessor training and Jeff Girard received his VT Class-B UST Systems Operator certification. Both are based in ECS’ Waterbury, VT office.

Ms. Losch is an Indoor Air Quality, Asbestos, and Lead Project Scientist. She currently works on Brownfields projects as well as demolition and renovation projects for warehouses, farms, abandoned sites, gas stations, auto shops, day care facilities, apartment buildings, and following natural disasters.

Diana Lischer-Goodband of Dummerston, Vermont, is the winner of the 2012 Ralph Nading Hill, Jr. literary prize awarded annually by Green Mountain Power and Vermont Life magazine.
