VNA announces new Adult Day Program Manager

The Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties (VNA) proudly announces Diane Olechna as the new Adult Day Program Manager. Olechna recently moved to Vermont from Maryland, where she was the Director of Quality, Risk Management, and Educational Services at the Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital of Maryland and now resides in Shelburne.

The VNA Adult Day Programs offer a safe and home-like social setting for elders and adults with disabilities or other medical needs. In addition to nutritional meals, participants enjoy daily exercise, gardening, cooking, arts and crafts projects, singing, and interactive games. Olechna will ensure a high level of quality-care for our participants at our locations in South Burlington, Williston, and Colchester.

Olechna’s experience and leadership are evident from the results she produced in Maryland including decreasing hospital infections by 50%, reducing fall rates by 5%, and increased discharge to the community by 5%. But beyond the numbers, Olechna has a deep care for the work she does and said, “I have a passion in caring for clients who desire to be as independent and functional as possible. The three Adult Day Programs are designed for the client being served based on a social/medical model and the staff provide excellent programs every day to our clients.”

“My impression of the VNA is that it is a quality health care organization providing exceptional care to our community. The VNA is family oriented, innovative, and supports an environment of caring and compassion,” shared Olechna. As a Certified Rehabilitation Nurse, Olechna has many skills and abilities to contribute to the Adult Day Programs.

The VNA is a 106-year-old non-profit home health agency caring for people of all ages – from critically ill children to vulnerable families to adults who need rehabilitation, care for chronic illness, adult day services or end-of-life care. The VNA provides medically-necessary home and community-based care to individuals and families regardless of their ability to pay. The VNA serves over 5,000 individuals and families in Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties each year.
