With the new fiscal year at NERC comes a new leadership team. The Board of Directors has elected the following Board members as the Executive Committee for fiscal year 2013:

When a local senior approached the counter where Ms. Goehring was working to request a wire transfer, Ms. Goehring may not have guessed that she would have a chance to stop international fraud. Emily Byrne, DNP, FNP-BC, a member of the medical staff at Montpelier Integrative Family Health (MIFH), recently received the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. The curriculum concentrates on direct care, specifically research utilization for improved delivery of care, patient outcomes and clinical systems management. Emily’s research focused on primary care assessment and management of pediatric overweight and obesity.

Last year North Country Hospital entered a new era in medicine and patient care when the hospitalist program was adopted to care for patients during their stay in the hospital. “Hospitalists” are physicians who specialize in hospital medicine and devote their time exclusively to caring for patients while they are hospitalized. Deborah Puckhaber, MD, has been hired as Medical Director for the Hospitalist Service.
