Engineers Construction honored by Department of Defense for Patriotic Support of Employee Serving in the VT Air National Guard
Ken Pidgeon, Scott Pidgeon, and Ben Dow of Engineers Construction, Inc., of Williston and Essex Junction, have received the Patriot Award from the Vermont Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR.). The three company leaders were nominated for the award by Engineers Construction, Inc. employee Zachary Clark, who serves as an officer in the Vermont Air National Guard.
The Pidgeon brothers and Mr. Dow were presented the award last month by Shawn Bryan, Chairman for the Vermont ESGR and David Wheel, Executive Director of the Vermont Committee.
Darren Springer to join Vermont Public Service Department as new Deputy Commissioner
Public Service Department Commissioner Christopher Recchia today announced that Darren M. Springer will join the department as Deputy Commissioner, leaving his current position as Chief Counsel and Senior Policy Advisor for Energy and Environment in the Washington, D.C. office of Senator Bernie Sanders. Springer is a graduate of Vermont Law School, earning both a J.D. and a Master of Studies in Environmental Law. “We are very excited that Darren will be coming back to Vermont and joining the department as my Deputy,” Commissioner Recchia said.
Vermont Council on Rural Development announces staff for Vermont Digital Economy Project
The Vermont Council on Rural Development (VCRD) has announced the hiring of three new staff members who will oversee the launch the Vermont Digital Economy Project (VDEP). The project, which was announced earlier this year by Governor Peter Shumlin and Vermont’s congressional delegation, is funded in large part by a disaster recovery grant from the Economic Development Administration.
