Ken Pidgeon, Scott Pidgeon, and Ben Dow of Engineers Construction, Inc., of Williston and Essex Junction, have received the Patriot Award from the Vermont Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR.). The three company leaders were nominated for the award by Engineers Construction, Inc. employee Zachary Clark, who serves as an officer in the Vermont Air National Guard.
The Pidgeon brothers and Mr. Dow were presented the award last month by Shawn Bryan, Chairman for the Vermont ESGR and David Wheel, Executive Director of the Vermont Committee.
What truly sets the company apart is the attitude of the owners, who are self-effacing and humble about their contributions. They take no credit and only feel grateful that they have the opportunity to support their Guard and Reserve employees and the mission of the Guard and Reserve. This company truly lives and exemplifies the ideals of the ESGR program and deserves the recognition that they humbly suggest “is no big deal”, said Shawn Bryan.
The ESGR, a division within the Department of Defense, promotes cooperation between employers and employees serving in the National Guard or Reserves and helps mediate disputes.
