Burlington litigation attorney David Pocius admitted to U.S. Supreme Court Bar

Paul Frank + Collins P.C. has announced that David M. Pocius, a Director and Shareholder of the firm, has been admitted to the bar of the United States Supreme Court. The swearing-in-ceremony took place on Tuesday, March 26th at the U.S. Supreme Court Building on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. Mr. Pocius was admitted in open court alongside 12 defense attorneys and in-house counsel from the Defense Research Institutes’ Young Lawyers Committee.

The Partnership for Change announces director

The Partnership for Change has announced the hiring of Hal Colston as its Director. The Director is responsible for leading the Partnership’s efforts to help build a prosperous future for the Burlington and Winooski communities by remodeling our schools for the 21st century. Hal will work closely with a broad and diverse group of stakeholders, including school administrators, students, teachers, parents, and community partners, to support school change.

Dr. Elliott S. Fisher named director of The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice

The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth has named Elliott S. Fisher, MD, MPH, as the Director of The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice. An internationally recognized leader in health services research and health policy, Dr. Fisher is currently the Director for Population Health and Policy at The Dartmouth Institute, as well as the James W. Squire Professor of Medicine and Community and Family Medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine. He is also Co-Director of the Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care.

American Heart Association honors local youth advocate as hundreds of volunteers seek Congressional support for NIH research

The American Heart Association has named Tommy Watson of Williston, VT, “Youth Advocate of the Year.” The national award will be announced at the association’s annual Hero’s Reception on congressional Lobby Day, You’re the Cure on the Hill, in Washington, D.C. on Monday, April 8th.

The national honorees include:

o Science-Advocate of the Year is Dr. Weintraub from PA.

o Volunteer-Advocate of the Year is Lee Storrow from NC.

o Survivor-Advocate of the Year is Yolanda Dickerson from NC.

o Youth-Advocate of the Year is Tommy Watson from VT.
