UVM College of Medicine alumnus and family establish $1 million fund for Vermont Cancer Center

A 1952 alumnus of the University of Vermont College of Medicine and his family have established a $1 million endowed fund at the university to support the work of the Vermont Cancer Center at UVM and Fletcher Allen Health Care.

Arthur J. Perelman, M.D.’52, of Summit, N.J., sons Robert, Jon and Carl and their children established the Charlotte E. Perelman Cancer Research Fund in honor of their late wife, mother and grandmother. Nearly fifty family members and friends were on campus Saturday, June 22, to celebrate the gift and honor the late Mrs. Perelman.

VT/NH Marketing Group co-founder and past president George Duncan of Peterborough, N.H., has been named to The 101 Best Copywriters in the World. The list was compiled by PhraseHQ, a website for creative professionals.

Duncan’s copywriting career spans 50 years from Esquire Magazine in 1960 to Kennedy Information in 2008 and features more than a dozen national awards, including the VTNHMG’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Terry Allen “Borderlines” Exhibit at CVMC Art Gallery

“Borderlines,” an exhibit of Terry Allen’s photography is currently hanging in the lobby at Central Vermont Medical Center. It shows people and cultures on the edges of society and the cusp of change. Some photos soften the boundaries that divide people or blur the hard borders separating sky, water, and stone.

“These photographs are amazing,” remarked CVMC President and CEO Judy Tartaglia. “Subjects range from children at play in a Thai temple to a photo quilt assembled from quarry machinery shed to a cat on a graffitied car hood in Queens, NYC.”

Alison Milbury Stone joins DRM Energy and Telecommunications Group

Vermont Law School graduate Alison Milbury Stone has joined the northern New England law firm of Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC. Stone will be based in the Burlington office and will practice in the firm’s Energy and Telecommunications Practice Group.
