Competitive Computinghas announced the hiring of the following employees:

Kevin Francis, Program Manager, Kevin graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Management Engineering. He has quite a bit of experience in the workplace. His previous positions include: Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor at Digital Equipment Corporation followed by Operations Manager at Tubbs Snowshoe. Kevin then joined Competitive Computing for the first time as a Project Manager. His next position was the Supply Chain Manager and later the IT Manager, at NRG Systems.

Ledyard’s Kevin De Rosa elected treasurer of Claremont Chamber

Ledyard National Bank has announced that Kevin De Rosa, Assistant Vice President and Norwich Banking Office Manager, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Greater Claremont Chamber of Commerce, as Treasurer. It is a two year term.

The Greater Claremont Chamber of Commerce strives to enhance, promote, and support the economic stability and growth in the communities it serves.

Kevin joined Ledyard in 2012 with two years of banking experience and three years in retail management.

Childhood diagnosis inspired North Country pharmacist

Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (commonly known as juvenile diabetes) when she was nine years old, Monika Onusseit's life was forever changed. She was forced to meet the challenges of living with diabetes at a young age, but the disease also helped shape her future. She is now the newest pharmacist at North Country Hospital in part because of her childhood diagnosis.

“I'm happy and pleased she is here,” Mike Omar said. “She is doing a spectacular job.” Mike is a pharmacist and the Director of the hospital's pharmacy.

Two Vermont residents receive prestigious EPA environmental award

Two Vermont state employees were honored at the 2013 Environmental Merit Awards ceremony of the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Kiersten Bourgeois in the Vermont Agency for Commerce and Community Development and Patricia Coppolino in the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation together received one of 28 awards given to people and organizations across New England for their significant contributions to environmental awareness and problem-solving.
