Parent, Wohl new partners: leadership changes announced at DRM

Attorneys Elizabeth R. Wohl of the Brattleboro Office and Mary K. Parent of the St. Johnsbury Office have been elected as directors and owners of the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC. As well, DRM Directors John H. Marshall of St. Johnsbury and Elizabeth K. Rattigan of the Lebanon Office have assumed new leadership roles at the firm. The election of the new members took place at the firm’s annual meeting in December.

Radiologist brings new skills, techniques to ‘small hospital’ with ‘big punch’

Experienced radiologist Dr. Yvette Bailey has joined Catamount Radiology, providing full-time radiology services at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.

A native of New York City who has spent considerable time in Vermont throughout the years, Dr. Bailey brings tremendous experience, clinical knowledge, fellowship training in interventional radiology procedures, and many new methods and techniques that will allow patients to receive faster care, locally.

Bogdan and Mulligan join Champlain Community Services board of directors

Champlain Community Services (CCS), Inc. in Colchester recently named David Bogdan and Moira Mulligan to its Board of Directors.

Bogdan is a former Senior Engineer at IBM with multidisciplinary team leadership expertise. He is Chittenden program coordinator for Special Olympics Vermont, providing year round sports training and competition to over 170 athletes in Chittenden County. Bogdan lives in Burlington, and recently completed the Certificate in Nonprofit Management at Marlboro College Graduate School.

National Life Group promotes three to senior vice president

Three key executives at National Life Group responsible for overseeing the company’s network of agents were promoted to senior vice presidents.

CEO Mehran Assadi announced the promotions of Pam Blalock to senior vice president, career distribution; and Louis Puglisi and Matt DeSantos to senior vice president, independent distribution.

Assadi said the promotions reflect the company’s commitment to a diversified distribution network of career and independent agents.

Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) hires Meredith Scott to direct literacy programs

The Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) is delighted to welcome Meredith Scott as Program Director. Scott will oversee all of CLiF’s literacy programs and will focus on developing long-term, community-wide sponsorships in partnership with Vermont and New Hampshire towns, libraries, and elementary schools.

CVAA’s executive director retiring after nearly 34 years

CVAA’s executive director John Barbour has announced his intention to retire this year from the agency. Barbour has been the Executive Director for 26 years and has been with the agency for nearly 34 years advocating for seniors, their families, and their caregivers. During his tenure he has dealt with the surge in the senior population, the reduction of funding, and the move toward more community based services. In the ever changing world of senior services, Barbour has been the one constant.

Fletcher Allen partners board announces change in composition, new trustees

The Fletcher Allen Partners’ Board of Trustees has announced changes to the structure of the Board, most significantly, a reduction in the number of board members from 27 to 19 to improve operational effectiveness. Fifteen Board members have been elected from the Boards of the four affiliated hospitals. Upon expiration of their terms, replacements will be elected by the Partners Board and do not need to be trustees of any subsidiary board.

DeMars named Interim Chair of Obstetrics/Gynecology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Geisel School of Medicine

Leslie R. DeMars, MD, has been named interim Chair of Obstetrics/Gynecology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, replacing Richard H. Reindollar, MD, who had served as chair since 2005.

DeMars, who is currently the division director of gynecologic oncology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock and Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Geisel School of Medicine, will serve during the search and transition to a new permanent chair.

Her appointment began on January 1.
