Vermont Chamber of Commerce expands its tourism staff

The Vermont Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Danica Lamos to its Tourism Division. As Tourism Sales and Marketing Associate, Lamos will use her communication and organizational skills to help the Vermont Chamber’s tourism members promote their businesses through the official state tourism guidebooks and Vermont Chamber’s social media platforms. She will also help manage the Tourism Division’s educational programs, such as ServSafe.

VSAC promotes Cargill and Leduc to vice president

Vermont Student Assistance Corp. today announced it has promoted two long-time employees to vice president.

Marilyn Cargill has been named vice president of financial aid services and research. Cargill joined VSAC in 1984 to help manage the grant department. She has been the director of the financial aid services team since 2004. A member of the executive board of the National Association of State Student Grant and Aid Programs, Cargill has also served as that organization’s secretary and president. Cargill lives in Monkton.

Vermont Wood Pellet Company announces changes in leadership

Chris’s co-founder, Katie Ewald Adams, will is moving into a more strategic role as Chief Marketing Officer. Lura Jacques promoted to managing trust officer of Union Bank

David Silverman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Lura Jacques to the position of Managing Trust Officer for Union Bank. Jacques brings 25 years of experience to the position. She joined Union Bank in 2008; prior to that she was a Wealth Advisor at TD Banknorth.

Miles Waite of Waite-Heindel Environmental will teach UVM class on soil and groundwater pollution

Miles Waite, PhD, owner and hydrogeologist of Waite-Heindel Environmental Management in Burlington, Vermont will be teaching an upper level UVM Class during the Spring 2014 Semester. The class is in Plant and Soil Science and is called Soil and Groundwater Pollution and Bioremediation. Miles, a consultant who regularly manages projects that involve soil and groundwater contamination and remediation, will be teaching the class for Don Ross, who is on sabbatical for the spring semester.
