The Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) is delighted to welcome Meredith Scott as Program Director. Scott will oversee all of CLiF’s literacy programs and will focus on developing long-term, community-wide sponsorships in partnership with Vermont and New Hampshire towns, libraries, and elementary schools.
CLiF’s community-wide program sponsorships provide its partners with up to $25,000 in literacy programming over a year or longer. Scott will work to maximize the success of each program and ensure that CLiF’s partners continue to reap the benefits of a community-wide culture of literacy long after a CLiF sponsorship has ended.
Scott comes to CLiF from the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum in Stowe, VT, where she has worked as curator since 2002 and as director since 2007. At the museum’s helm Scott curated all exhibits, established signature fundraising events, and quadrupled membership. Her vision brought the museum from a startup to a statewide educational entity.
Scott earned degrees from Dartmouth College and the University of Glasgow, Scotland. In addition to her tenure at the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum, she has worked at Shelburne Museum, tutored at Mt. Mansfield Ski Academy and the North American Hockey Academy and volunteered as a literacy mentor with Everybody Wins!.
CLiF is a non-profit organization founded in 1998. Its mission is to nurture a love of reading and writing among children throughout Vermont and New Hampshire. Over the past 15 years CLiF has supported and inspired almost 150,000 low-income, at-risk, and rural young readers and writers across Vermont and New Hampshire through six successful literacy programs and donated more than $2.5 million in new, high-quality children's books.
CLiF does not receive any federal or state funds for its programs. It relies solely on the generosity of individuals, local companies, social organizations, and foundations.
