A May 7th, 2013, news broadcast from Lyndon State College’s Electronic Journalism Arts students landed a top 5 finish in the Broadcast Education Association’s 2014 Festival of Media Arts national competition. This years’ awards were presented during BEA’s annual April convention in Las Vegas.
WCAX reporter Ali Freeman will become WCAX-TV’s new weekday morning co-anchor. Freeman, a graduate of U-32 High School and Clemson University, will join Steve Bottari and meteorologist Gary Sadowsky at the end of May.
Freeman is the former Rutland Bureau Chief. Her most recent assignment was covering the region as a reporter out of the WCAX newsroom in South Burlington.
Conservation Law Foundation has announced that Carol Gregory is joining the New England environmental advocacy organization as Vice President of Communications and Marketing.
“Carol’s wealth of nonprofit communications and marketing experience—as well as her understanding of current environmental, energy, and climate issues—will greatly benefit our organization as we continue to expand our work advancing solutions that benefit the people and environment of New England,” said John Kassel, president of CLF. “We are thrilled to welcome Carol to the CLF team.”
The Vermont Council on World Affairs (VCWA) has announced the addition of David Clubb, Assistant Vice President for International Education at Norwich University to its board of directors.
Charged with promoting awareness and understanding of the world and its people through education and engagement, The VCWA serves as Vermont's primary host to international visitors and works with educational institutions, the business community and the public to develop programs for our community members.
A Lifetime of Vermont People, written and photographed by Peter Miller of Colbyville, Vermont, has been awarded another honor. The Independent Publisher Association gave an IPPY gold medal toLifetime as the best non-fiction book of 2013 written by an author living in the northeast.
