Hinda Miller given Lifetime Achievement Award

Vermont’s own Hinda Miller received a Lifetime Achievement Award last night in Glasgow, Scotland, at the Sports Business Innovation Awards 2015, for invention of the “Jogbra”, a sports bra for women she co-invented in 1977.

The Sports Business Innovation Awards highlight innovation and achievement in sports related businesses in Scotland. Hinda’s involvement in the development of the sports bra for women, and subsequent business success story, were inspirational to guests attending the Glittering Awards Ceremony and to other award winners such as DiaryDoll and Findra.

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum curator to speak at Norwich about President Lincoln’s Balloon Corps

Norwich University’s Sullivan Museum and History Center, the state’s only Smithsonian Affiliate, will host Dr. Tom Crouch, Senior Curator of Aeronautics at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum for a lunch-and-learn on Wednesday, April 8 at noon in Milano Ballroom, located in Roberts Hall.

Crouch’s presentation, “Mr. Lincoln’s Air Force: Military Aeronautics in the Civil War,” is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be served, and a book-signing will follow.

Lyndon State hosts media and social justice panel discussion

Lyndon State College will host a “Media and Social Justice” panel discussion on Tuesday, March 31 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Moore Community Room/ASAC 100. Stacey Brown joins National Bank of Middlebury as CFO

National Bank of Middlebury has announced that Stacey Brown has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Hannaford donates 426 cases of food to Vermont Foodbank

Hannaford Supermarkets today donated approximately $5,000 in food to the Vermont Foodbank as part of a hunger-relief campaign that produced more than $1 million in product and cash donations across five Northeast states, including $107,000 in Vermont.

Hannaford Helps Fight Hunger took place in December and included a you-buy-one, we-give-one component; Hannaford pledged to donate identical products when customers purchased specific shelf-stable items. The food donated Thursday included 109 cases of pasta, 88 cases of sauce, 146 cases of vegetables and 83 cases of cereal.

Bowl New England adds corporate systems administrator

Bowl New England Inc., headquartered in Colchester, Vermont announces the addition of Bill Moller as Corporate Systems Administrator.
