Stowe aviation artist presents work to Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots

Tod Gunter, the owner of Plane Profiles studio and gallery in Stowe, Ver­mont, presented a work of art he created to Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots. The illustration is of a Vietnam era fighter airplane, adorned in a livery that Gunter created, to commemo­rate the Patriots’ championship in Super Bowl XLIX.

Students from Southern Vermont College and Albright College team up for alternative spring break project in Reading, PA

During Spring Break in March, six students from Southern Vermont College (SVC) and seven from Albright College are participating in a joint project in Reading, PA. They will be working on a Habitat for Humanity of Berks County home-build project. The SVC students selected Reading as their site projects this year, which inspired Albright students to do the same.

Green Thumbs at Work Garden grant winners announced

Employees at Carris Reels-Plastics Division in Rutland are already pining for that first bite of fresh tomato from their soon-to-be planted garden this summer.

The company received a Green Thumbs Community Garden grant from the Vermont Department of Health.

“We thought a garden would be a great addition to our Health and Wellness program,” said Patricia Blake, site manager for Carris Plastics. “Our hope is to also be able to offer an activity to get our employees outside and doing some exercising, as well as enjoying that first ripe tomato. Nothing beats that taste.”

Phil Pouech joins AllEarth Renewables team

Dunn selected Shelburne Vineyard’s Reserve as one of only 8 wines he’ll sample.

Goddard College honors local activists

Goddard College presents two Marshfield residents with awards this Sunday, March 29th. Longtime farmer Wilmer Brandt will receive the Goddard Award for Excellence and cultural anthropologist Dan Chodorkoff will receive the Fourth Annual Presidential Award for Activism at an award ceremony at Goddard’s undergraduate commencement, where eight students will receive the Individualized Bachelor of Arts and five will receive the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing degree.
