Dave Treston joins KSV as senior account planner

KSV, the Burlington-based marketing firm, has hired Dave Treston as a senior account planner. At KSV, Treston is responsible for guiding quantitative and qualitative research and account planning efforts for many of KSV’s clients.

Treston is a senior-level strategist and account planner whose experience spans the utility, technology, retail, financial and professional services industries in both direct-to-consumer and business-to-business environments. His previous clients include AmeriGas, UnitedHealthcare, IKEA and Comcast SportsNet.

VBSR announces interim manager and ED search

The search is on! Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) is seeking a new Executive Director. The organization is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, inspired and experienced manager to fill the role and is accepting applications through June 15th. Avram Patt, former General Manager of Washington Electric Co-op, will join the VBSR team as Interim Manager starting June 1st and will oversee the hiring process for the next Executive Director as well as a portion of the organization’s day-to-day operations.

Mount Family Group hires Jill Marsano as chief financial officer

Mount Family Group, Ltd., the Burlington-based franchisee of Westaff Workforce Solutions and Remedy Intelligent Staffing, has hired Jill Marsano as its Chief Financial Officer. Marsano joined the company in March and is working at the corporate headquarters in Burlington, VT. In her new position, Marsano will be responsible for the financial management, marketing, and other business functions of the franchised business.

Matthew Harder joins VHFA

Executive Director Sarah Carpenter announced Matthew Harder, Vergennes, VT has joined VHFA as Staff Accountant.

Matt is a recent graduate of the Community College of Vermont and is on course to be awarded a second degree, an AS in accounting, this July.

AllEarth Renewables hires Jessie Izzo Wakefield

AllEarth Renewables has announced the hiring of Jessica Izzo Wakefield to its accounting team.

Wakefield, whose career has included work in customer and administrative services, joins the company as a staff accountant. Wakefield, of Winooski, earned a bachelor’s of arts in psychology from Siena College.

American Academy of Pediatrics awards major grant to two pediatricians at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center

As opiate drug abuse has become an increasing problem in many Vermont communities, two Mt. Ascutney Hospital doctors have created a project aimed at caring for mothers and infants who are addicted, or at-risk. Pediatricians Kimberly Aakre, MD and Mary Bender, MD, were recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), in support of their project.

Rutland man wins GMP-Zetterstrom Environmental Award

A Rutland man who has devoted four decades to protecting birds and the environment was presented the GMP-Zetterstrom Environmental Award today.

Roy Pilcher, who founded Rutland County Audubon and has served as president and in other lead roles for more than 40 years, was presented with the award during a ceremony at the West Rutland Marsh, an Audubon Important Bird Area, a designation Pilcher was instrumental in obtaining.

The annual award, named for famed osprey advocate Meeri Zetterstrom, comes with $2,500 to support Rutland County Audubon’s ongoing work.
