University of Vermont Medical Center names chief nursing officer

The University of Vermont Medical Center has appointed Mary Kate FitzPatrick, DNP, RN., NEA-BC, FAAN to the executive leadership position of chief nursing officer, effective September 21, 2015. FitzPatrick will also play an integral role with the UVM College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The appointment was made following a comprehensive six-month national search.

The role will report to Eileen Whalen, M.H.A., R.N., president and chief operating officer, UVM Medical Center. Whalen will continue to hold the title of interim chief nursing officer until FitzPatrick’s arrival.

NG Advantage promotes Andrea Sheredy to senior accountant

Andrea Sheredy, of Jeffersonville, VT, has been promoted to Senior Accountant at NG Advantage LLC. Andrea has been with NG Advantage since 2013 and during that time has handled all the daily financial transactions of the company including billing as the company grew from a startup to a company with over $17,700,000 in sales in 2014.

In her new position Andrea will continue to be the lead in daily accounting activities but will add responsibility for helping the Controller and the Executive Team with financial analysis, budgeting, and tax reporting.

Central Vermont Montessori educator attends inaugural Snelling Center Early Childhood Leadership Institute

Kristen Martin of Barre, head of the Montessori School of Central Vermont located in Berlin, is attending the first-ever Snelling Center Early Childhood Leadership Institute (ECLI).

A program of the Snelling Center for Government, the ECLI seeks to stimulate enthusiasm and provoke effective participation in efforts to improve early childhood work in Vermont. The ultimate goal is to give participants the information, tools and inspiration to make greater contributions toward early childhood issues in their organizations, their communities and the state as a whole.
