Pete Antos-Ketcham joins Energize Vermont as executive director

Energize Vermont has announced that Pete Antos-Ketcham, formerly of the Green Mountain Club (GMC), has joined the organization as its new Executive Director. Antos-Ketcham succeeds Mark Whitworth.

While Executive Director, Whitworth led many of the organization’s initiatives including lobbying for effective climate change policies, environmental preservation, and sensible deployment of renewables. Whitworth will continue to carry out policy analysis for Energize Vermont and will serve on its Board of Directors.

Middlebury resident named 2015 HR Professional of the Year

Co-operative Insurance Companies’ vice president of human resources was recognized by her co-workers and industry peers for her contributions to the company, her profession, and the community this month.

Gina Larrow received the 2015 HR Professional of the Year award from the Society for Human Resource Management at the group’s state conference in Burlington on September 10.

Turrell Fund names three Vermont women as Champions for Children

Three Vermont women, Mary Burns, Director of the Burlington YMCA, Julie Cadwallader Staub, Grant Director for the Early Learning Challenge—Race to the Top grant for the state of Vermont, and Blanche Podhajski, Founder and President of the Stern Center for Language and Learning, were recently honored in Montclair, New Jersey by the Turrell Fund as champions for children. Each was given the Turrell Champion Award.
