Lund board elects new board president and five new members of the board of trustees

Lund’s Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the recent election of its new board president and five new members to the Board of Trustees. Paulette Thabault of South Burlington was elected as President. Paulette has served on Lund’s board for the past nine years and has chaired Lund’s Strategic Planning and Governance Committees. She is Director of the School of Nursing at Norwich University and practices in South Burlington, focusing on the treatment of obesity and related chronic diseases.

Dick Barnes recognized for long-term service to Vermont

Richard E Barnes of the AR Sandri Company has been recognized by Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin for his long-term service to the state of Vermont as a member of the state's Petroleum Cleanup Fund Advisory Committee. Barnes, who also chairs the Vermont Petroleum Association's Executive Committee, retired last month from A.R. Sandri, Inc., a petroleum distributor operating in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts and headquartered in Greenfield, Mass.

Garry Harrington's 'Chasing Summits: In Pursuit of High Places and an Unconventional Life,' released in August

Longtime Vermont sportswriter Garry Harrington first climbed Mount Mansfield, the Vermont state highpoint, in 1978 as a freshman at St. Michael’s College in Colchester. It would spark a passion that was reignited more than 20 years later when he suddenly lost his job as the sports editor of the Keene (NH) Sentinel. Since that day in 2004, Harrington, now 56, has been on a peak-bagging mission, climbing every mountain he could check off a list.
