David Southwick hired as City’s Planning & Permitting Administrator

The City of St Albans is pleased to announce that David Southwick has been hired to the position of Planning & Permitting Administrator. His first day on the job was Monday, September 12. David is a St Albans resident with a master of arts degree from the University of Denver and a doctorate in education from Syracuse University. After jobs in sports sciences, exercise physiology, product management and customer relations, he took the position of Executive Director of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce in 2013.

Daniel Rodliff elected to the VIAA Board of Directors

Daniel J Rodliff, CIC, CPIA, LUTCF, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Vermont Insurance Agents Association at its annual meeting on September 8th. He started his career at Liberty Mutual Insurance and joined NFP P&C (formerly Poulos Insurance) in 2007. As a Vice President for NFP, Dan manages three offices in Northern Vermont, develops marketing strategies for the firm and assists with NFP integration throughout northern New England. He is a graduate of St Michael’s college and resides in Shelburne with his wife and two sons.

Bishop to receive national award for middle level education

Penny Bishop, EdD, associate dean of the University of Vermont (UVM), College of Education and Social Services, Burlington, is the recipient of the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE) John H Lounsbury Award for Distinguished Service in Middle Level Education. The award, the highest offered by AMLE, was established to recognize individuals whose scholarship, service, leadership, and contributions to the theory and practice of the middle level education ideal have been extraordinary.
