Chittenden County Opioid Alliance data manager hired

The Chittenden County Opioid Alliance (CCOA) announced today that Samuel Francis-Fath has been hired as data manager. CCOA is a new collaborative partnership of local non-profit agencies, business leaders, community members, state government, the City of Burlington and the University of Vermont Medical Center. CCOA is dedicated to reducing the opioid crisis and the burden it places on our communities.

Nicholas Ponzio from Building Energy receives Jim Grundy Award

Building Energy’s Co-Founder Nicholas Ponzio was awarded the Jim Grundy Award during the 2016 REV Conference on Friday, October 14th. Renewable Energy Vermont annually recognizes energy innovators and advocates at the Conference. The award’s namesake Jim Grundy was a founder of REV known for his integrity of spirit, kindness of soul and ingenuity in renewable energy technologies. The Jim Grundy Award is given to a Vermonter who exhibits these qualities beyond all others.

Southern Vermont College announces new appointments in athletics

Southern Vermont College (SVC) President David R Evans has announced the appointment of Sharief Hashim as the College’s Interim Director of Athletics, as well as an expanded role for Ashley Hodges, SVC’s current Assistant Director of Athletics. Hashim has worked in many capacities since he arrived at SVC in 2013, most notably as the Athletics Liaison for Admissions and Admissions Counselor. He has also served as Head Coach of the junior varsity men’s basketball team and as Assistant Coach for the College’s varsity squad.

Achim Schwetlick joins National Life Group as Senior Vice President

Achim Schwetlick, a former partner in the global management consulting firm Boston Consulting Group, has joined National Life Group to head the company’s Business Innovation Group, President and CEO Mehran Assadi announced. As a senior vice president, Schwetlick will be in charge of National Life’s life and annuity strategy, product design, product marketing and business development.“Achim is uniquely qualified to assume this key role that will bring under one organization these critical areas for our company,” Assadi said.

Comcast names Adwoa Dadzie Regional Vice President Of Human Resources for Western New England region

Comcast announced today that Adwoa Dadzie has been named Vice President of Human Resources for the company’s Western New England Region, which is headquartered in Berlin, Connecticut, and includes over 300 communities in Connecticut, Vermont, Western Massachusetts, New York and Western New Hampshire. In this role, Dadzie and her team will support more than 1,700 employees and oversee all of the region’s Human Resources functions including staffing, recruiting, payroll, benefits and training through Comcast University – the company’s internal training and leadership development program.

UVM Foundation hires Assistant VP for Development and Gift Planning, announces eight promotions

Newly hired as assistant vice president for development and gift planning is Amy Palmer-Ellis (Shelburne, Vt), formerly associate director of gift planning at Williams College. Prior to her career in development, Amy was an attorney in Boston and in Bennington, focusing her practice on trust and estate, real estate and charitable institution law. While in Bennington, she and her firm served as counsel for Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
