Special Olympics Vermont President & CEO announces retirement

Special Olympics Vermont President & CEO, Lisa DeNatale has announced she will retire, effective December 1, 2017. For the past six years, DeNatale has led the state-wide non-profit organization that provides inclusive sports training and competition opportunities to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Vermont is an accredited program of Special Olympics, Inc which globally reaches 5.3 million athletes in over 170 countries. “Leading the Special Olympics movement in Vermont has been enormously gratifying,” said DeNatale.

Mainer, EI, joins DuBois & King

DuBois & King consulting engineers announce that Mike Mainer has joined the firm as civil/environmental engineer. Mike is a graduate of the University of Vermont’s environmental engineering program. His six years of professional experience includes design and permitting of residential, commercial and municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects as well as site investigation and remediation of hazardous materials. He resides in Hinesburg, Vermont and works out of the firm’s Brandon office.

Breault joins CSJ as Vice President of Human Resources

College of St Joseph (CSJ) is pleased to announce that Jody Breault has joined the College as Vice President of Human Resources. Breault has more than 16 years of experience in human resource management in both the private and government sector. Prior to joining CSJ, Breault served as director of human resources for the City of Rutland for nearly seven years. She began her career in human resources in 2001 at Tyco Healthcare, before serving as HR generalist, corporate HR manager, and operations HR manager at Vermont Country Store.

Notable Castleton University faculty named Professor Emeritus

Castleton is proud to announce that former professors Bob Gershon, John Gillen and Bob Johnson were recently granted the title of Professor of Humanities Emeritus by the Vermont State Colleges Board of Trustees. Professor Emeritus status is the highest academic rank, awarded to select faculty members after long and distinguished service to the University and its students. Honorees will be recognized for their accomplishments at the VSC Board of Trustees meeting at Castleton University on June 22.

BMH hires new Finance Director

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) recently welcomed Brandon Reed as the new Director of Finance. Reed was previously employed at Cooley Dickinson Medical Group in Northampton, MA as the Accounting Manager. A graduate of Western New England University, with a bachelor’s of Business Administration, Reed has a background in both accounting and finance, working at Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Andersen, in Hartford, CT.

BMH names 2017 Employee of the Year

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) recently presented the 2017 Employee of the Year Award to Brian Patno, Certified Medical Assistant for Just So Pediatrics and a member of the hospital’s Community Health Team. The annual award is a closely guarded secret until the winner is announced at the annual Ice Cream Social held during Hospital Week. Steven R. Gordon, President and CEO of BMH, presented Patno with his award, citing Patno’s commitment to local healthcare.

VLA staff attorney Londergan named State Long-Term Care Ombudsman

Vermont Legal Aid (VLA) staff attorney Sean Londergan has been selected as Vermont’s new State Long-Term Care Ombudsman (SLTCO). Starting May 1, Londergan began leading the Vermont Long-Term Care Ombudsman Project (VOP), a team comprised of six regional ombudsmen and local volunteers. The VOP helps residents of Vermont’s long-term care facilities across the state, as well as people receiving home-based long-term care services through the Choices for Care program.

MSI hires Koehler to lead further business growth
