Matt Habedank receives award
Matthew Habedank of Northwestern Counseling & Support Services (NCSS) received the 2017 Ed Sbardellati Award for Excellence and Innovation in School Based Mental Health Services, also known as the Eddie. The award—presented annually at the state-wide Success Beyond Six Behavior Intervention conference—is granted to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the field of behavior intervention in the state of Vermont. This is the fourth year the award has been presented.

Ludlow Insurance’s Bixby receives prestigious Brigham Alfred Award
Ronald G Bixby of Ludlow received the prestigious Brigham Alfred Award for his outstanding contributions to the Vermont Insurance Agents Association (VIAA) and American Agency System during the association’s recent 111th annual convention at the Hilton Burlington. The award is in memory of the founding president and executive director of the VIAA and recognizes Bixby as the insurance person of the year in Vermont during 2017-2018.
Krok-Horton wins VHCA’s Recreation Services Assistant of the Year award
Patrick Krok-Horton, recreation services assistant at Wake Robin, Vermont’s first Life Plan Community, was named Vermont Health Care Association’s Recreation Services Assistant of the Year. VHCA is an advocate for quality care and collaboration between Vermont's residential care, nursing, and long-term care communities. The Award was presented at the organization’s Annual Conference and Trade Show in Stowe on September 26.

The Vermont Lake Monsters are happy to announce updates regarding two staff members who are coming off of their first full seasons with the Lake Monsters organization. The former Director of Community Relations and Promotions, Maria Valentyn, will become the Director of Marketing and Promotions, while the former Box Office Manager, Frank Fanning, will become the Director of Team Operations and Community Outreach.
