Local Motion is excited to announce the selection of Karen Yacos as its new Executive Director. Karen will oversee Local Motion’s continued growth into a statewide organization as well as its work to ensure that walking and biking in Vermont is safe, accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Yacos comes to Local Motion with extensive professional experience focusing on creating livable communities and healthy ecosystems, most recently as Director of the Water Program at Ceres, an environmental sustainability non-profit in Boston.
Friends of Waterbury Reservoir announces board changes
The board of the Friends of Waterbury Reservoir (FWRes) is pleased to announce that Steve Brownlee, owner of Umiak Outfitters on S Main St in Stowe, was elected to the board as a member at large. Long-time board member Chuck Kletecka was elected as Treasurer.
"I am grateful that Chuck stepped up as Treasurer," FWRes President John Bauer said, "He has been a strong advocate for the reservoir for many years and understands the need for careful fiscal responsibility."
