MAHHC event honors 33 staff members for more than 535 years of service

On April 19, Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) recognized 34 employees who have collectively served the Hospital for more than 535 years. Staff members were honored at a special Employee Service Awards dinner in the Hospital’s newly renovated café, where MAHHC President, CEO and Chief Medical Officer Dr Joseph Perras personally thanked them for their contributions and commitment to the Hospital, its patients and the community.

ReArch Company transitions Biondo into an estimating role & hires McDonald and Franzosa

As ReArch Company continues to grow and hire new employees, we are continually putting our current employees in different and more challenging positions to foster their development and success within our company. We are pleased to announce Philip Biondo will be transitioning into an Estimating position. Prior to joining our team, Phil worked as a CAD Design Specialist, where he was responsible for designing commercial, industrial, and residential buildings from start to finish. Phil also oversaw the estimation of various projects, and the management of an onsite crew.

VFCU announces new mortgage originator

Mark Antell, Assistant Vice President of Residential Origination at Vermont Federal Credit Union, is pleased to announce that Kerry Whalen Powell has been promoted to Mortgage Originator in the Chittenden Country market. Kerry Whalen Powell joined Vermont Federal Credit Union as a Consumer Loan Officer in the Member Call Loan Center in March of 2016. Before joining the Credit Union, Powell worked with the Nate Malley Team at Keller Williams Realty.

Marty & Edie Miller to Chair CVHHH’s Spring Appeal

Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice (CVHHH) is pleased to welcome Marty and Edie Miller of East Montpelier as Honorary Chairs of its Spring Appeal. Marty and Edie’s relationship with CVHHH dates back 35 years, when they called on CVHHH’s then recently introduced Hospice program for support with the death of their son Jonathan. In the years since, the couple has depended on CVHHH for a range of services, including occupational and physical therapy and routine nursing care. Marty is a member of CVHHH’s Finance Committee and previously served on the Board of Directors.

Samaritan House announces new Executive Director

Brad Ferland, President of the Samaritan House Board of Directors, is proud to announce that Alicia Gay has been named as Executive Director. Alicia served as the Interim Director for Samaritan House since the fall of 2017. Ferland remarked, “Alicia has been an amazing leader both at Samaritan House and in the greater community with dedication and heart that exemplifies Samaritan House mission and goals. We feel very fortunate to have her leading the efforts.”

DEW Construction Corp announces several new hires

Responsible for the development and implementation of DEW/MacMillin’s overall marketing plan & strategy, Stacey Bevins was appointed as director of marketing. She has over 17 years integrated marketing communications experience. Ann Kirzl was appointed as human resources and risk manager. Most recently, Kirzl was with VSAC and Champlain Valley Dispensary. She has over 10 years human resources experience.

WCPV-FM and WestView Digital win ‘Best in Show’ Commercial of the Year Awards

Advertisements for Palmer Insurance and Casella Waste Management took home the Best in Show Awards May 22 at the annual Commercial of the Year Awards presentation at the Vermont Association of Broadcasters Convention in Montpelier.

The commercial for Palmer Insurance, titled “Life Unexpected,” won the Best in Show prize for radio. It was written by Amanda Relyea and produced by Mary Cenci for WCPV-FM in Colchester.

Humane Society of Chittenden County welcomes new president & CEO

The Board of Directors of the Humane Society of Chittenden County (HSCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Joyce Cameron as President & CEO. Cameron comes to HSCC after nearly two years with the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum where she most recently served as Co-Executive Director. In addition, she has formerly held leadership positions at the Greater Burlington YMCA and the Kelly Brush Foundation. “I am thrilled to be joining the dynamic and dedicated team at HSCC.
